WALTHAM, MA—INDIA New England News, one of the largest online and video magazines serving the Indian American community in the United States, today released the list of its Outstanding Women of 2024, who will be honored at the 21st Annual Woman of the Year Awards gala on April 26, 2024 at the Burlington Marriott Hotel in Burlington, MA.
“It has been 21 years since we started to honor the outstanding women of our community for their contributions, achievements and success,” said Upendra Mishra, founder and producer of the Woman of the Year Awards and publisher of INDIA News England News, and its sister publications IndUS Business Journal, Life Sciences Times, and the Boston Real Estate Times. “As always, we have a great list of women leaders this year. We’re excited to welcome this year’s winners and all the guests to honor New England’s brightest stars on April 26.”
In addition to honoring 10 Outstanding Women this year in various categories, INDIA New England News will bestow the Lifetime Achievement Award for 2024 to Radha Jalan, an educator, mother, wife and former CEO of ElectroChem.
The event is attended annually by about 400 business and community leaders, philanthropists, and professionals.

Assistant Professor of Physics: Worcester Polytechnic Institute
Founder: Women Who Empower Women, an ISW group
An active member of the India Society of Worcester, Snehalata Kadam is the founder of the organization’s Women Who Empower Women, a new initiative for women from all walks of life to come together and empower each other by sharing their life experiences.
In addition, she serves as Assistant Professor of Physics at Worcester Polytechnic Institute. At WPI, her primary responsibility is not only to create an atmosphere wherein the students can develop their knowledge but also help them create innovative learning strategies. She strongly believes that teaching helps students to facilitate self-discovery, self-appreciation and helps them to expand the horizons.
As a trained biologist, she is keen on relating physical principles to these complex systems.
